Granada – Las Palmas Prediction 6 February 2017

The 21st round of the Spanish championship will be closed by the match between Granada and Las Palmas.

After 20 rounds, Granada conclude the tournament table and are practically already in Segunda. It is still unclear, how Granada can leave the relegation zone. Wherein Granada have the worst defense in the league with 44 conceded goals, within the last five rounds, the team suffered four defeats and had a draw only once. Out of 10 gained points, Granada got seven at their home ground. Yes, the team is not effective and concedes more, than scores. But in seven out of ten domestic encounters, with consideration of the Cup, Granada players managed to score some goals. At home, Granada score not only to the teams from the lower part of the tournament table, but to such strong teams, like Villarreal (1:1), Sevilla (2:1), Atletic Bilbao (1:2), Eibar (1:2).

It should also be noted, that within the last five domestic matches, Granada suffered only one defeat. This shows, that the team will try to grab some points in every game, therefore, there’s nothing left for Granada players, accept going offensive.

Las Palmas are situated in the middle of the tournament table, on 11th place. The Yellows still haven’t lost a single match at home this season, within the championship. However, in away matches, Las Palmas suffer the same: only one victory with two draws and six defeats. The goal difference is 10:21, i.e. the team scores stably one goal and concedes about two. Within the last five away matches, the Yellows suffered four defeats and had one draw. It should be noted, that Las Palmas have conceded in every away game with no exception. Wherein the team rarely leaves without scoring a goal. It happened only thrice: Barcelona (5:0) Atletico Madrid (1:0), Betis (2:0).

As for the personal encounters of the teams, it is clearly seen, that the teams play very effectively against each other. Thus, within the last 6 years, the teams played five times. In the first half of the current season, Las Palmas crashed Granada (5:1), and we should probably expect the same battle as in the previous season (the Yellows victory 4:1 and Granada’s response 3:2).

Granada desperately need points, therefore the team will not play defensively at their home ground. But considering Granada’s poor performance in defense, some goals may be expected from Las Palmas as well, which may be bad in away matches, but still score quite often.

Prediction for the match: Both teams to score or over 2.5 goals in the match
