Iceland – Czechia Prediction 8 November 2017

On the upcoming Wednesday in the Qatari city of Doha, the national team of Iceland will play with the national team of Czechia within a friendly match. For the Icelanders, the upcoming game will be the first stage of preparation to the World forum, which will be held in summer 2018 in Russia. The national team of Czechia in their turn didn’t make it to Mundial, the western slavs are starting to think about the Euro 2020.

The Iceland national team played in a very strong and equal group in the 2018 World Cup qualification, in which the Ukrainians, the Croats and the Turks participated. Within three last official matches, the Nordics managed to defeat the national teams of Ukraine, Turkey and Kosovo. The Islanders didn’t concede a single goal to their net in the matches, which means that the team has a strong defense.

The Czechia national team couldn’t even advance to the WC-2018 qualification play-offs, losing to the Germans and the national team of Northern Ireland in their qualifying group. Whereas the Czech squad managed to win two last matches, at first against Azerbaijan national team away 2:1, and after that, the national team of San Marino was destroyed at their home ground. A new stage begins for the Czechs, the preparation for the European championship qualification, therefore the managing staff of the national team is probably going to go for some rotation and changes in the squad.

The Iceland national team doesn’t have that big of a roster, therefore one may not doubt, that the close-to-first squad will play in the match against the Czechs, while the Czechs themselves may have some big squad changes unlike the recent official encounters.

Prediction for the match: Iceland not to lose
