The 19th round of the German Bundesliga will be opened by the encounter between Hamburg and Bayer. Both future competitors pretty much disappoint their supporters, other than making them happy, but the whole second half of the season is still ahead, so one can expect performance and results improvement both from Hamburg and Bayer.
Within the last five matches of the German championship, Hamburg lost three times and won twice. The victories happened over Hamburg and Schalke, while the losses were registered against Mainz, Wolfsburg and Ingolstadt. It should be noted, that both victories happened at their home arena, while the losses were registered in away games. Since the beginning of the championship, the Dinosaurs have had 18 matches in which they managed to gain 13 points. Such number of points corresponds to a place in the relegation zone.
Bayer’s current situation is somewhat better, than in Hamburg. After 18 played rounds, the Pharmacists are on the ninth position in Bundesliga’s tournament table, but for a team, which counts on playing in the Champions League, it is a terrible situation. The gap from the fourth place, on which Borussia Dortmund is situated, is seven points, besides, downturns even within a single match are not rare for Bayer. It is hard to count on success with such unstable performance.
Hamburg recently have started to gain points regularly at their home arena. How else would they get out of the elimination zone? Bayer, in their turn, make numerous mistakes and Schmidt’s team plays pretty weak in away games: only three victories within eight matches outside their native walls.
