One of the central clashes of the round of 16 of the Europa League will be a duel between Lyon and Roma. Both future competitors look pretty decent in their championships, Lyon is situated on the fourth position in Ligue 1, while the Wolves are second in Serie A. Both teams are offensive and have a powerful squad potential, therefore it will be very interesting to look at the performance of these two teams.
Lyon look very powerful recently. The team won four out of five last matches, whereas AZ were beaten with a score of 7:1 and Metz – 5:0. Nevertheless, Lyon are only on the fourth position in the French Ligue 1 tournament table falling behind Nice by 15 points. It seems, that Lyon will probably not going to advance to the UCL via the championship, therefore they’ll have to get there through the UEL.
Roma currently have a downfall. Within the last week the Wolves lost twice at Olimpico. At first, in a cup match to Lazio 0:2 and later to Napoli within Serie A with a score of 1:2. It is more important for Roma to hold the occupied positions in the Italian championship’s tournament table, second place, to be exact, so any rotations in Spalletti’s tactical set wouldn’t come as a surprise. Besides, the Romans look much weaker in away games, than in domestic ones.
Lyon are currently in a terrific shape. The team has everything it needs to get to the final of the eurocup and for that they need to move past Roma. The Wolves are a strong competitor, but the Romans do not fail that rarely in away matches, therefore a bet on the Frenchmen looks promising in this couple.
