The 21st round of the German Bundesliga will be opened by an encounter between Augsburg and Bayer. The match will be played on Friday, as Bayer will host Atletico at their home ground on 21st of February within the round of 16 of the Champions League. Despite the field factor, which will be on the Bavarian team’s side, Bayer approach the upcoming game as clear favorites, however, the Pharmacists themselves do not show their best performance in away games this season.
After 20 played rounds in 2016—17 German Bundesliga, Augsburg are on the 13th position in the table and have eight-point handicap over Werder, which in their turn are in the transition match zone. The hosts are not threatened by elimination in this situation, of course, and the team from the South of Germany can peacefully prepare for the upcoming game.
Bayer have had four matches in the year 2017, in which they lost twice, as well as won twice. The victories were registered over Hertha and Eintracht, and the defeats happened in the matches against Borussia Monchengladbach and Hamburg. Bayer have had nine games outside their home walls within Bundesliga, in which they managed to win only thrice, i.e. the Pharmacists have 33% of away wins. Eleven goals were scored in those matches and thirteen conceded.
Augsburg are not the most domestic team in Bundesliga, but still, the Bavarians do not lose that often at home. Bayer, in their turn, perform very weak in away games this season and the Pharmacists are very unstable in general to approach the encounter as clear favorites.
Prediction for the match: Augsburg not to lose.
