Two matches of the UEFA Champions League play-off round will be played on the upcoming Wednesday, one of which will be an encounter between Borussia Dortmund and Benfica. The first encounter between the competitors finished in a 1:0 victory for the Portuguese and now the German team has a great opportunity to take revenge for that loss. Borussia Dortmund will put maximum effort to win and not to concede any goals while doing that, and the Eagles will do everything they can to score those goals.
Borussia Dortmund had a downfall in the middle of February, but recently the Bumblebees have gained some decent shape. Within the last three matches Tuchel’s team only won: Wolfsburg, Freiburg and Bayer, conceding only two goals from Bayer in the games. The Bumblebees are situated on the third position in German Bundesliga’s tournament table, thirteen points behind the leading Bayern.
Benfica did not experience any downfalls. The Eagles only won within the last five matches: Borussia, Sporting Braga, Desportivo, Estoril and Feirense. Benfica are on the first position in the Portuguese championship tournament table with one-point handicap over Porto, which are the main chasers and competitors of the Eagles in the current season.
Benfica desperately need an away goal, and if it happens Borussia Dortmund will have to score three times in the Eagles’ net and considering decent defense of the future guests, it will be very hard to do. A bet on an effective action by the Portuguese looks logical for the upcoming match.
