Liverpool, currently the second team in the Premier League, will host Stoke City at their home ground, which are in the middle of the tournament table of the English peloton. Bookmakers reckon, that the future guests basically have no chance on success in this encounter, but Mark Hughes and his men have another opinion on the matter.
After 17 played rounds Liverpool have 37 points in the asset and are on the second place of the EPL tournament table. The Reds are six points behind Chelsea and will at least try to shorten the gap on the Boxing day. Jurgen Klopp’s team has had seven home matches within the EPL, five from which were victories and two were draws, with 21 scored goals and 7 conceded.
Stoke previously were a home team, but times change and now the Potters have learned to play well outside the native ground, however they don’t manage to gain points at home on a stable basis. In eight away matches of the 2016-17 EPL season, Stoke City won twice with three losses and three draws, scoring 8 and conceding 11 goals. Hughes’ team couldn’t get a single victory within the last three encounters: draws with Southampton and Leicester and also a 1:3 defeat from Arsenal.
Stoke City is a hard nut to crack, but the Reds have necessary means to deal with it, who, by the way, intend to become the champions of England this season. Liverpool look great both at home and away, and probably, Klopp’s team will get another confident victory over its competitor.
Prediction for the match: Liverpool to win with -1.0 Asian handicap.
