On the 2nd May another Madrid derby within the Champions League will be held, when Real will host Atletico. The Royals look great in their native championship, the team has all the chances on becoming the winner of Primera, but on the upcoming Tuesday all thoughts of Blancos will be turned to the UCL.
In the quarterfinal of the Champions League Real managed to pass through Bayern Munich with some effort and now it’s Atletico’s turn. These two teams played against each other very recently within Primera at Santiago Bernabeu and the match concluded in a 1:1 result. The repetition of such an outcome will be a great failure for the Royals, Real Madrid wants to win, and, if possible, with more than one goal.
Atletico have had five away matches within the Champions League this season, among which there are four victories with one draw and one defeat. The only loss happened in a match against Bayern, while the victories were registered over PSV, Rostov, Bayer, a draw with Leicester. Atletico have had 18 away matches within Primera, in which they got nine wins with six draws and three defeats and only Barcelona and Real play better away. It should also be noted, that Atletico conceded very rarely, even away, only Villarreal have better throughput.
It is important for Atletico not to concede. Conceded goals for Real at their home ground aren’t very preferable as well. Despite the top level of the future competitors, there is a slight doubt, that this will be an upper-performance game.
Prediction for the match: Under 3.0 goals in the match.
