Liverpool will start their 2017-18 EPL season with a match against Watford, which will be held on the Hornets’ field. Bookmakers are on the Pelicans’ side in the couple and it is not just because Liverpool are noticeably stronger than Watford by their squad. The men from Vicarage Road have a new manager, who requires time to adapt in a new side, while Jurgen Klopp continues working with Liverpool, the man who brought the Reds back to the Champions League.
Watford prepared for the season by playing friendly matches. Within the last five games, the Hornets managed to defeat Viktoria and Eibar, had a draw with Aston Villa and Real Sociedad, as well as lost to Wimbledon. It is interesting to note, that within the last four encounters, in which Watford took part in, no more than one goal were scored.
Liverpool approach the first round in the EPL in a terrific shape. Within the last five matches, the Reds managed to defeat Leicester City, Gherta, Bayern and Athletic Bilbao. The Pelicans also had a draw with Atletico Madrid, but lost to the team in a penalty shoot-out series. It should be reminded, that Liverpool will soon have to play the first play-off match of the Champions League qualification against the German team of Hoffenheim, therefore Klopp brings his boys to the maximum.
Watford is a middle class team in the EPL plus they have a new coach, who couldn’t keep Hull City in the elite last season. In their turn, Liverpool played very well under Klopp away, there is a possibility, that the German manager will insist on away activity of his players.
